Our story
Built for pet pros, named after two dogs
Barclo started with two dogs and one frustration. The dogs are Archie and Lola, a Beagle-Spaniel cross who thinks every walk is the best day of his life, and a Maltese-Shih Tzu who runs the house. The frustration was watching brilliant pet care people spend their evenings buried in admin instead of doing the work they love. Barclo is what happened when the two came together.
Hi, I’m Dylan
I’ve spent my career in marketing and operations, the behind-the-scenes work of making businesses run properly. Systems, processes, the unglamorous machinery that lets good people do their best work. I’m good at it, and I enjoy it. But somewhere along the way I realised I wanted to point all of that at something I actually love, rather than just something that pays.
What I love is dogs. Archie and Lola have shaped my days for years, and through them I got to know the world of pet care, the walkers, groomers, boarders, sitters and trainers who look after animals like they’re their own. And I kept noticing the same thing: these are people who got into this work out of love, and yet so much of their time gets eaten by admin. Chasing invoices over WhatsApp. Juggling bookings across three apps and a notepad. Writing up notes long after the last dog’s gone home.
That felt wrong to me. The people doing the caring shouldn’t be the ones drowning in paperwork. So I decided to build the thing that takes it off their plate, and to pour everything I know about operations into making it genuinely good, not just another tool.
That’s Barclo. It’s named after my dogs, it’s built on what I’ve learned from a year of listening to real pet pros, and it’s the thing I’m proudest to have made.

I’ll be honest with you about what drives me, because it matters. My dream, the real one, is to open a dog sanctuary in Spain. A place to take in street dogs and rescues and give them the kind of life Archie and Lola have: safe, loved, cared for properly.
Barclo is how I hope to get there. If this grows into something successful, it becomes the thing that funds that dream, and every pet business that thrives on Barclo brings it a little closer.
